Adam Burden has earned multiple degrees through Whiskey University. He joined our organization in late 2023. In 2016 Whiskey University began offering Certificates, Diplomas and Degrees. Adam earned his Bourbon Diploma on March 6th, 2024, after passing 10 classes. Adam is an Executive Bourbon Steward with the Stave & Thief Society.

Adam Burden has a rich and diverse professional background. He spent 32 years in the IT industry as a Collaborative Technologies Consultant before transitioning to open and operate a coffee shop. In 2014, Adam discovered his passion for whiskey, which led him to explore the world of whiskey and bourbon deeply. In 2019 Adam worked on his first culinary collaboration, pairing whiskeys with a multiple course meal for a fundraising event. The event was a hit, and he continues to geek out on finding those perfect pairings. When asked which whiskey Adam orders at the bar, the answer is, “one I haven’t tried before”.   Adam and Angie have been married since 1992 and have 2 children and will be welcoming their first grandchild in late 2024. Adam lives in South Ogden, Utah and promotes Whiskey University in the Ogden, Utah area.

Adam is a graduate of the Spring Class of 2024, graduating from Whiskey University on April 23rd, 2024, where he has earned his Associate of Science degree with 20 classes, and the title of "Certified Bourbon Taster."

Whiskey University became an interest in 2023 as it was simply a great vehicle to continue his passion for history and information for whiskey and bourbon. What began as a passing interest has grown into a hunger for more information. Adam has completed Majors in the “Whiskey Row Region, Bourbon Capital Region, and the Blue Grass Region” as he continues to expand his studies. Adam became a “Master Whiskey Taster” with the rank of Captain in the Bourbon Brigade after taking his 40th class and earning his Bachelor of Arts Degree on August 20th of 2024.
