Kaveh Zamanian

Kaveh Zamania was born December 22, 1964 in Iran. At the age of 14, he and his family moved to the United States and settled in San Francisco, CA. In 1992, he received his Ph D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. He later moved to Chicago, IL where he attended Northwestern University and did postdoctoral research. He met his wife in Chicago who is originally from Louisville.

With roots as a wine enthusiast, he instantly fell in love with bourbon and moved to Louisville. In 2012, he founded Rabbit Hole Distillery and decided to leave the psychology field to focus solely on distilling. While having a conversation with his wife to leave psychology and open a distillery, her response was, “You’re taking the family down the rabbit hole.” This is how Rabbit Hole got its name.  The Rabbit Hole distillery opened its doors in 2018. Kaveh was inducted into the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame in 2022.
